Anne Armezzani discusses scientist Rachel Carson.

The Gathering Place for Community, Arts & Education held a high tea on Wednesday, Oct 30. The theme was “Remember the Ladies.”

It was an afternoon of scones, jams, finger sandwiches and tea cakes paired with freshly brewed teas accompanied by talks about three notable women from Pennsylvania: scientist Alice Evans, journalist Nellie Bly, and scientist Rachel Carson.

The volunteers of The Gathering Place prepared food and teas.
